Harmonic Convergence

Eagle-eyed Pony Pal™ Mr. Dork, Esquire noticed and captured the above yesterday, an unsually perceptive confluence of stories on the Washington Post's home page. It's always totally fun when things line up so appropriately. A toss of the gorgeous, combable mane to you, Mr. Dork!

...And Puppies Love Michael Steele, Too

The above image was sent in by Pony Pal™ Skurchak, who writes:
This might be too obvious, but someone has to do the obvious thing sometimes.
And truer words have never been spoken! Two sparkley hooves up, and happy Friday!

Meanwhile, In the CD Cut-Out Bin...

We haven't heard from Pony Pal™ Krimpet in a while, but he's come roaring back with this delightful peek at the career Condi never had. I'm assuming this featured an updated version of "Hell is for Children".

Seersucker-Punched: The Opera

Yes, I was caught off-guard yesterday by Seersucker Thursday, that magic day when folks on The Hill wear outdated clothing to go along with their outdated approaches to legislation. I made a plea to undercover Pony Pal™ Fritz at CSPAN for more pics and boy oh boy did he come through! And not only that, but his captions were so poignant, so moving, almost like Bergman at a crocquet tournament, that I'm posting them here unaltered for your edification:
Surprising lack of seersucker apparel on Senate floor yesterday:

After the gavel and while gathering to vote things looked promising

but it soon became apparent that SOME people hadn’t gotten the memo –

Those in the know were NOT amused

The good doctor was asked his opinion on the matter

and Secretary Chao’s husband said the lack of seersucker denoted an alarming trend in American culture, and he would be no part of it

Senator Judd “Dread” Gregg concurred

One senator said he had worn seersucker before wearing plain blue

And they gaveled out with nothing concluded

It's all just so moving... so tragic. You're a peach, Fritz!

OMG, and I almost forgot! They were also talking about Iraq 'n' Katrina 'n' stuff.

Trolling for Laffs

Pony Pal™ Anthony from Metroline Design sent along the above pic with the comment that "Condi looked like a troll in today's Reuters article", and, well, who am I to argue? Bonus sparkles are awarded for matching our color scheme so perfectly and for her aerobariffic costume, perfect for Condicising!

Condishop Roundup: Building a Better Photo-Op

Click for bigger, fabulouser!

Photoshoppers the world over discover one salient truth: there is no better subject than Princess Ferragamo! First up, please be astonished by the above unholy conflation of Condi 'n' Jon Stewart provided by talented image-hacker and Pony Pal™ greyjello.* What kind of show would such a chimaera host? And would s/he have fared better at the Oscars?

Next up, I think Pony Pal™ Senior Fellow Uncle Splatty got a little impatient with last week's relentless extravaganza of matching armchair photo-ops, so he came up with a way to make an even more meaningful statement with the set-up:

Oh dear... now that's an interesting message.

*A side note: kids, please capitalize your interweb names.

Dawn of Diplomacy

Inspired by last night's party get-up, Pony Pal™ David of metacosmesis.org presents the fun-filled Zombileezza displayed above. Two sparkley hooves way, WAY up!

UPDATE: Somebody in the comments made a "this person has too much time on his hands" pronouncement. Please see this post to find out just exactly how I feel about such comments.

Condi Has No Better Hairdo than the One Parked on Her Head

The funniest Secretary of State bashing in quite a while comes from the New York Times, which yesterday featured a hilarious exposé of Princess Spendoleezza's most tired, worn-out diplospeak. Check it out and laugh!

Also, it just goes to show that you go into World War III with the Secretary of State you have, not the one you wish you had.

The Doctor is In

Pony Pal™ J. Hoch was reminded of something when he gazed adoringly at Friday's wire photo of Splendaleezza's encounter with the Prime Minister of Bulgaria. Thanks to the magic of Photoshop, he's able to share his vision with all of us! Two sparkley hooves way up!

Condishop Roundup

I love Pony Pals™ who send lovingly Photoshopped visions of our Princess-in-Chief. The above image of Condi behind the wheel of Steven King's Christine comes courtesy of formiddable image mangler Barrump. Have a near-beer on me, Froggy!

And next up, Uncle Splatty offers a dual-purpose image, one which not only shows our heroine displaying her patriotism in a way John McCain never would, as displayed in my post last night, but also offers an example of the fabled, longed-for "Severe" Hairdo Alert™ level. Whoah:

Uncle Splatty explains:
And who can beat Condi in the carefully staged, micro-managed world of symbol politics? No one! She has bested the lapel wearing crowd by a country mile, and check out those dreads, too. Support Our Troops, indeed!
Awesome, Uncle Splatty 'n' Barrump!

Magna Condi

Pony Pal™ Magnus sent along this lovely apocalyptic vision of our favorite "diplomat". Check out the large version by clicking on the pic, and see Magnus' site for lots of his dense, fabulous drawings, paintings, etc. Two sparkley hooves way up!

Let's Excercise Our Faces Again, Like We Did Last Summer

Remember how much fun we had exercising our faces last week? Well, I had a hunch the Photoshopping masses at Fark would enjoy having their way with the album's distinctive graphics. And boy did they. Mr. Dark Johnson, for instance, lovingly crafted the animated ones at the head of this post. A couple of favorites:

Oh, oh. Up-to-the-second humor by Mental.

Check it out! I promise your face will be plenty exercised by the time you look at them all.

Metablogging: Washington Post Creates New Sparkle Pony

The above is from last Monday's Express, the Washington Post's free commuter tabloid. I guess I should be thrilled about the plug, but I'd be a lot happier if they had used the correct web address. So if anybody feels like setting up a sparklepony blog at blogharbor.com, you can brag about it being featured in the Post!

UPDATE: LOL, DUH.

And on a lighter note this morning, Pony Pal™ krimpet has created this touching, cosmic tribute to James Traficant's hairdo, ponies, and outer space:

That totally brings a tear to my eye.

Extreme Makeover: Karen Hughes Edition

Two especially glittery hooves up for Pony Pal™ krimpet for these two extraordinary visions of Karen Hughes. Krimpet's right: if Karen wants to improve the United States' image, maybe she should start with her own.

The "Kiss Me I'm French" lapel button is an especially inspired touch.

Season's Gratings

Big ups to Pony Pal™ Baxterslate for creating my favorite Christmas card ever, one which perfectly captures my feelings towards this, my least favorite holiday. Trust me, it's a "don't get me started" topic.

Click on the image for the full-size picture, and stare at it for a while before you go to bed tonight. That'll take care of those "dancing sugarplum" visions.

An Oasis from Hatred

I just didn't have anything to write about this evening; it was a really slow news day. What's that? Something about spying on citizens, you say? Please. Are any of you really surprised?

But thank goodness for Pony Pals™, because new PP Tate has stepped boldly into the gap and provided us all with the resplendent photo above, in which he presents the daring, glam-rockin' "1970s Genesis" model of the Condibot. I totally cannot wait to hear her version of "The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway". Tate mentions that he loves the Pink Pony "...for the nice distraction it provides me from my hate for the Bush administration."

So... whoah, thanks for the heads-up, Tate! I'll have to work on that.
