Compare/Contrast

Supporters of US Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama listens during a rally in Miami, Florida. Young voters will play a key role in determining the outcome of the US presidential election, with analysts predicting they will overwhelmingly favor Obama over Republican John McCain. I've been showing the McCain/Palin crowds so much lately that I thought it would only be fair to show a shot from an Obama rally. I think it's safe to say that this one shows who is really drawing more of a cross-section of the United States. I'm just saying!

Hello Princess Sparkle Pony,

Long time stalker, first time poster from Australia here.

Let me just say this: Cross-sections are SOOOOO anti-American. I condemn you.

Speaking of kicking out the bastards, former Aus. PM John Howard and Tony Blair should stand on trial with W at The Hague.

The axis of teh Stupid.

I kinda feel like the crowd in this photo are about to burst into "I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing"...

So, what your saying Princess is that cross-section Americans are better than real Americans? Sounds like Trotski talk to me. Eep!

Speaking of Australia, I couldn't help thinking from the start that Sarah Palin has certain Pauline Hanson tendencies . . . and I don't just mean the grating voice.

My dog likes the open mouths and clenched teeth of the Palin crowd better. The cat is impressed by neither.
Since they're both registered to vote through ACORN, it's difficult to arrive at a consensus around here.

That is a beautiful shot. No snark.

Makes me proud to be an American (okay, maybe a teensy bit of snark).

And Obama will be in my mama's town of Leesburg this afternoon! Outside the rec center where she plays bridge with the other seniors!!!

Too surreal.

So, if you see a photo from today's rally with a white haired woman of five-by-five stature wearin' a bedazzled Obama sweatshirt -- that's Ma!

Talk about diversity.

I know what you mean, puravida. It's almost too "Up with People" for me, too, but it's real! It's totally like Sesame Street has come to life, and Obama is being elected King Muppet. Yay!

King Muppet

He does look not just a little bit like Ernie...

Notice how they're all listening instead of shouting? That's what happens when you have a candidate who actually has something of substance to say. The McCain/Palin crowd could be at a hockey game. Or a big sale at David's Bridal, for that matter.

I notice that too...I'm wondering if it bothers the McPalin campaign to see all that snow.
