Today's Larry Craig Chuckle

From Al Kamen's column in today's Post:

This from a Nov. 12, 1999, Loop column.

Bipartisanship Never Sleeps Quote of the Week: Sure, it's only Friday, but we're confident this one can't be topped. It's from Sen. Larry E. Craig (R-Idaho), remarking Tuesday on how he and Sen. Robert C. Byrd (D-W.Va.) were in sync on some mining issues.

"Politics makes strange bedpersons," Craig said, according to the New York Times. "I would not be uncomfortable in Bob Byrd's bed."

But Byrd might be.

ROFFLES. Now why did it take so long for that to resurface? Well, better late than never. Larry Craig: always funny, forever and ever, amen.

Wow, the Craig Pathos has reached almost Seinfeld-esque levels of discomfort.

I'm actually wincing while reading his words. Not because I feel sorry for him (although, on some level I do, I suppose), but just because I'm afraid that the stupid might stick.

Princess, have you heard about the 2 youngsters who were on athletic scholarship at the U of Nebraska? They were booted off the wrestling team because it was discovered they had nude photos on a website frequented by *gasp* gay men! This is the same school which occasionally overlooks violent acts by its football players.

Anywho . . . it is causing quite a stir in the middle of the country. There's a story on it at omaha.com on the sport page.

Oh, give the man credit, Princess -- he used inclusive language!

congrats to all who are out of the closet. Those who are still in (Larry) spend a lot of time leaving clues.

verification word: uetwlui, pronounced "wet willie"

It's hard to remember that Larry is actually still around.

I wish we had a response from Byrd, the "bedperson" in question.
