For the first time, Bush revealed a personal way in which he has tried to acknowledge the sacrifice of soldiers and their families: He has given up golf.
“I don't want some mom whose son may have recently died to see the commander in chief playing golf,” he said. “I feel I owe it to the families to be in solidarity as best as I can with them. And I think playing golf during a war just sends the wrong signal.”
OMG.

Solidarity would be sending your own kids. Asshole.
Ya know, we were at war in Korea and Ike played golf. I don't count that against him.
Ike didn't start the Korean conflict, but he did try to figure out how to end it. If we have a president who can do that, he can play all the golf he wants. Heck, he can play pee-wee golf or Frisbee golf or hackysack, I don't even mind.
That stupid rat b****** should be sent unarmed & unaccompanied into the streets of Baghdad.
The worst part of it all is that he's never going to see any more consequence for his actions than to feel that slight twinge of guilt that's making him pretend to quit golf.
He makes me want to take up a golf club and whack him upside his pinhead!!!!!
How about riding a mountain bike? Or falling off a Segway?
I think I'll play a round this week just in anti-solidarity.
Wow, what a sacrifice George.
Good to see that he's finally getting it; he's really growing as a person and a prezdint. I know I'm impressed.
