Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, right, and Italian Foreign Minister Massimo D'Alema look at the name tags on the floor at the State Department in Washington, Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2007.(AP Photo/Kevin Wolf)
Aren't they even trying anymore? Here we see Condi and today's photo-op companion, but it seems that the AP caption writer isn't bothering with the niceties. It's all so meta: here's Condi showing the Italian guy where to stand for the photo-op. Massimo, meet Hollywood. It's Madison Time!
In other news, I got the Elizabeth Bumiller book today! I have not started reading it yet!

Pffffft. She is so teaching him to dance the 'Condi'.
And a one...and a lie...two...three...four.
PSP,
You are an absolute genius.
Baci...
PS Have you thought of being Secretary of State?
I don't know. It looks more like "The Hokey-Pokey" to me. You put your right foot in...
...and you shake your lie about...
Same song man.
Did she start the day by heading out for a "Sound of Music" casting call? What's with the odd skirt-jacket mismatch?
At least she appears to have ditched - for the moment - the white hose...
PSP, enjoyed your Condi roundup. I agree with this week's Condi roundup...forget the lesbian rumors. I, too, bought the book, and have started reading it. Dr. CR stated categorically that she is not gay. So, we can lay that one to rest. While I haven't finished reading the book, it is probably the most definitive I have read thus far. I've read both Kessler & Mabry's books. She actually is not a Condibot and Bumiller brings some humanness to her, despite all the pre-book "juicy" hype (2-3 articles in the NYT, Post, and book review by some guy whose name I forgot.
Bottom line: she's part human and part bionic.
I've only just started reading, but I agree so far. It seems, however, that the notion of Condi having any sort of sexuality at all is scrupulously avoided past the "she dated athletes in high school" phase.
It looks like a lesson in the hokey pokey. Either that or she's showing him where his ass will end up if he messes with her.
Whatever happened to the Madison?
Oh Lulu, like all the classic dances--the Continental, the Lindy, the Neutron Dance--the Madison makes only rare appearances these days. Condi, however, hasn't forgotten the good old days! I mean, just look at that outfit...
not only jacket v skirt, but the colour scheme. Brown is the new blue. And I am looking forward to your thoughts after a thorough read.
Shoes don't match, either.
