One of my favorite morning pasttimes is spotting press-release-driven fake reports about commercial products on the network news programs. The local NBC station, for instance, extensively covered McDonald's introduction of new, better coffee recently, and then actually did a follow-up last week about how the terrific new java is selling great! Now that's service, and clearly it was worth it for McDonald's to fax that "info sheet" to all those newsrooms. I've blogged about this phenomenon several times before. Today, CJR Daily catches an especially good one.
