Revolution, Condi Celebrated in Iran

Yikes, the people in other countries are such talented artists.

yikes, that's heinous. i can't believe their talented artists didn't go for the OBVIOUS target, the teeth.

Condi Roundup will be up later today, and if you liked this post, you'll LOVE all the touching artistic odes to Condi is this week's episode.

Please note that the artist faithfully captured those freakin' played-out gold earrings.
I find that hysterically funny.

The Klingon forehead, too!

Somehow, no matter how mundane -- to me at least -- "Dr" Rice's mind may seem, this racist poster fails to amuse me. We've seen too much, for too many years, of this "big lips" kind of anti-black s--t here in the USA.

But glad the lovely PSP does keep us PCs up to date!

Shouldn't we declare a fatwa against them for a cartoon mocking America's Favorite Princess Diplomat (TM)?

At anonymous #2: I agree. Caricature is fine, but the depiction of her lips is a bit overboard and stereotypical.

Those aren't LIPS -- that's her tongue sticking out.

And, is that a black moustache?

BTW, I can see that girl's hair. My, how standards have fallen.

So Iranians, also a brown people, are racist against darker brown people. Gosh, the world IS all connected and everything!
(I despise Rice, but this is a telling image.)

Yeah, it is pretty racist for Iranians to depict a black woman with big lips like that.
But is anyone surprised that Iranians hold prejudices like the rest of the world?
In the 80's I had some Iranian neighbors. They used to slaughter goats on newspaper spread over their living room carpeting.
They thought curry was deodorant.
I would have welcomed some big lipped people in their stead. At least the music would have been better.

Thankfully, the designers of the Condibot created her lips in the image of the real Condi.

Uh, aren't big exaggerated lips stock in trade of caricaturists, regardless? I did the "five seconds on google" test, and check out the lips drawn for Tony Blair here (cartoon 7): http://www.cartoonstock.com/newscartoons/directory/t/tony_blair.asp

(That five seconds, of course, includes the time spent misspelling "caricature".)

For fans of that fine art, a huge selection of improbably big-lipped caricatures of white people is usually available for perusal among the awesome offerings of tourist-frequented parks or streetsides.

I argue a compositional goal by the drafter. Of course you want to spend some space rendering the hairdo, and rendering it big. Then you need something to balance the hair, and what's actually the REAL focus of the portrait -- the Klingon forehead!

And the Klingon is rendered impeccably, evoking not only its physical appearance but the spirit of Condi behind it.
