The photo above shows a PSA posted in Metro stations, bus stops, everywhere. Oh no! The featureless white guy (LOL) who casts no reflections (Nosferatu with a briefcase?) got hit by a bus because he didn't use the crosswalk! Tsk!
But look closer and you'll see that somebody is boarding the bus (it's dark in this picture, but totally visible IRL). In other words, THE BUS IS STOPPED.
Gosh, thanks, Metro. I'll be superextracareful not to get hit by idling vehicles from now on!

I think the guy is running PAST the bus, then getting hit by an oncoming car. That happened to me once when I was a kid.
That was my initial, charitable reaction, too. But some of the ads have the boarding rider cropped out, and others don't. I really think the silhouette is supposed to look like he's getting hit by the bus.
That's definitely the more dangerous scenario. The bus driver can see you, but the bus is blocking you from being seen by oncoming vehicles.
In the image, behind that bus is another bus lurking in the background just waiting to kill.
What I want to know is, how did this ad survive the creative department meeting? Didn't anyone notice and point this out? Oh, silly me. Of course no one did.
