Animagic, Disneytronic Condibot Returns!

(PSP file photo shows an alarming Condibot malfunction, April 2007)

Sometimes Politico provides exciting news without even meaning to!

See, for the past several months, I've been surprised that Condi has been getting into the whole political game so enthusiastically, something she's never done before. All of a sudden she's spouting endorsements left 'n' right, appearing at rallies, making speeches, etc. Why the change of heart? What's going on here?

And then it hit me: it hasn't been the real, actual Condoleezza Rice doing these things! (Imagine me smacking my forehead and exclaiming, "Of course!") No, it has been the famous Condibot, the labor-saving mechanical construct created by the Bush administration imagineers to fulfill Dr. Ferragamo's duties when the real thing was either unavailable, unenthusiastic, or uncooperative. It really explains it all!

This article about "Condi's Comeback" at Politico all but confirms it. Former Bush adviser Mark McKinnon is apparently wielding the remote joystick controller these days, and in a telling quote, basically gives the the whole game away:

“Condi is GOP royalty. She can do whatever she wants, whenever she wants,” he said. “I think she just needed a little time out of the spotlight to regenerate. But now that she’s back, she’s throwing a lot of wattage.”

They may want to check on that whole "throwing a lot of wattage" business; they don't want her to, say, electrocute Ann Romney at the convention or anything!

Now I'm looking forward to the lifelike Condibot's big speech so that I can see how well the "regenerated" simulacrum functions.  Maybe they'll give it a new hairdo! Yay!

And if the woman admitted to Augusta along with Condi is also a robot, you may have just revealed their cunning plan!

I haven't been watching the convention, but in all the coverage I've seen, NOBODY from The Administration That Shall Not Be Named is getting much airtime.

And I see a Hand TurkeyTM in the photo, what a bonus! Or is that a stretch? I would suggest drawing one on her hand, but that may be incongruent with the robot look.

Do you think they will ever risk Condibot and Romneybot appearing together? Just think what would happen if the radio control signals cross!!

that awkward pose! So sweet seeing the Condibot back in action. All is right with the world, and by right I mean terrible, terribly wrong, but in a familiar way.
