One need only to look at the attire of the crowd and we can see, in a single second, all that is wrong with our country.

Do they remember their President Nixon, or all the bills they had to pay, or even yesterday?"

Hey, Sarah wants you to know this is just a family vacation and it's not about her.

When I was a kid, my family always took vacations in a giant tour bus with a slogan on the side and sent our itinerary to the press in advance.

But she did NOT send her itinerary to the press in advance. That's one of the problems, and why this silly PR stunt will not garner the rave reviews Her Highness no doubt expects. The press is not happy, but it's fer dang shure that the Republicans establishment is even less so. Which is a good thing.

@Cat's Meow: I wrote inaccurately. She may not have given exact times, but it was already known she was going to Gettysburg next and that's why people showed up. And of course, she did stop in Gettysburg, but very late in the day at a hotel and she didn't make it to the memorial.

It doesn't seem like a very good way to keep and grow a fan base, but I'm just an amateur at this sort of thing. It worked for country singer George Jones, at least to some extent.

How does this work exactly? Wait, no, let me be more clear. The fundamentals are simple: Sarah Palin gets people to give her money.

My question is, how is she doing it this time? A big patriotic bus with patriotic words, a patriotic bell, and patriotic patriotism oozing patriotically out of the (presumably patriotic) exhaust pipe (patriotism now! with more carbon monoxide!). And she's not telling anyone where she's going or if she's stopping. How does this work?

Oh, wait, this is the "tease" part of my Sarah Palin lap dance now, isn't it. Well played, Sarah Palin. I think someone over there has a dollar bill. Please get off me now.

@Matty Boy: Indeed you are correct, and also I think samael7 has it right that Palin's "tour" is all about cold, hard cash. "Money makes the world go around, that clinking clanking sound." And of course she wants to step all over that unflattering book that her former aide wrote.

Let us all smugly enjoy the fact that the Republicans are going nuts. And that Karl Rove will have to spend a ton of money to stop her... money that he could be spending on GOP candidates for the House and Senate. Yippee!

Is it true that while she's actively not running, she can keep getting the $$'s at Fox News. But by posing as running, and pimping her website, at such posings. People visit her site, contribute to her PAC displayed promently, which adds an extra revenue stream?

She simply wants to be left alone, she doesn't want the media to follow her.

If that's so, then why's she traveling in a fucking rolling bill board?

peteykins, your love of tour buses AND ridiculous Republican bimbos must be experiencing harmonic convergence here.

Yes. I think the Wal-mart was open till nine.

Wal-Mart, YES! Here's a graf from POLITICO:

“I figure that politicians in office are really busy and they don’t need to be bothered by someone just knocking on their door,” [Palin] told CNN and RealClearPolitics. “We were in Wal-Mart last night in Gettysburg and I met one of the local city council members who happened to be there in line, so it’s not that we avoid them.”
