Speaking of Ursula Plassnik...

Austrian Foreign Minister Ursula Plassnik (L) former Polish President Lech Walesa (2nd L) and Austrian Vice Chancellor Wilhelm Molterer (R) wait before the Group B Euro 2008 soccer match, Austria against Poland, at the Ernst Happel Stadium in Vienna, June 12, 2008. REUTERS/Kacper Pempel

Sometimes I wish Ursula would get out there in front of the cameras more often. There's just not enough Ursulaproduct! But then I have to remind myself that, as the AntiCondi, she has better things to do than to traipse from vapid photo-op to vapid photo-op. And that is, after all, a big part of why we love the affable Austrian giantess. We also love her brave, counter-intuitive choice of variegated red and white stripes. It works! Well done, Ursula!

But do you notice something extraordinary about the above picture? Everybody's wearing a scarf... except for Ursula! It's backwards day! Fun!

Vice chanceller Wilhelm is wearing a variegated red and white striped tie. Could it be asecret signal? I think they have been hot on each other for months.

Scarves at football matches are so de rigeur, it would never do for Our Ursula to be seen in one.

This is also the beauty of the Euro championships. Austria has next to no chance of winning the whole thing, but no politician in any country has any choice but to support their team. It's nationalistic and adorable at the same time. Even the insular Brits, who aren't European and won't have ahything to do with this whole continental nonsense... wait, you're playing football? Okay, count us in.

Yay, Europe!

The variegated red and white from our Ursula's jacket is perhaps rather intuitive as it's the Austrian flag! It's a great day when fashion and symbolism meet on such friendly terms.

Bad Dad Gift Guide
From Darth Vader to Pete Doherty, Salon presents a lighthearted list of the 10 worst fathers ever and the presents they deserve.

3. Darth Vader

He kills his wife, cuts off his son's right hand and dresses like Condoleezza Rice. Any questions?

Gift Idea: One of those bronchial inhalers would at least help clear out all that phlegm.

Dear Princess Sparkle Pony,
On this one day only, I wish you were a straight breeder so I could wish you a happy father's day.
What an amazingly fun papa you'd be.

Oh, jeez, I'd be a terrible father. I don't like kids and I have no patience with them. Ugh.
