Ursula's Diplomatic Ski Party!

Participants of the 11th Europe Forum with EU Foreign Affairs Commissioner Benita Ferrero-Waldner, EU Parliament President Hans-Gert Poettering, Austria's Chancellor Alfred Gusenbauer, Slovenia's Prime minister Janez Jansa with companion Urska Bacovnik and Austria's Foreign Minister Ursula Plassnik, from left, pose for the media in Lech, Austria, on Saturday, March 1, 2008. OMG, so fun! Ursula and her friends turned a potentially boring diploconfab into a ski party! I now have no greater ambition than to hit the slopes with the affable Austrian giantess. I don't see Ursula holding any skis, so I imagine she just races down the mountain bare-footed. Here's our new favorite snow bunny with her boss:

I can't possibly come up with a better example to contrast exciting, lovable Ursula with drab, fun-vacuum Condi. Or can I? Well, you're in luck, because that's the subject of this week's Condi Roundup at Wonkette: Ursula as the Anti-Condi! I'll post the link when it's up (it's up!)! Happy Monday! OMG!

Our gorgeous goddess looks delicious in that last photo- so dewey and fresh. That is as un-Condi as you can get.

Condi is more of the MRE variety- dry and not really wanted by those she is dropped upon.

(franiam shudders in horror)

Refocusing on Ursula makes everything better!

Good one pony, and I simply cannot wait for the Wonkette post!

Here, I need must point out a "typo" in your post. In the last paragraph you write: "I can't possibly come up with a better example to contract exciting, lovable Ursula with drab, fun-vacuum Condi. "

But I think you mean "contrast," not contract. I hate how sometimes SpellCheck is no help at all. But I love Ursula--oh, and Princess Sparkle Pony!!!

Ooh, very good. Thanks!

For the record, I really do appreciate valid corrections. If you'd like to see an example of an invalid correction, visit the comments on the "Garfield minus Garfield" post below.

Wow, La Ursula has true stones to wear those silver bangles on her wrist; I would imagine they get pretty cold!

I think the whole of Austria is pretty much the anti-US in terms of fun.

Giant parka notwithstanding, I just adore these pics of Ursula in her little red face.
Mmmmm.

She looks merely statuesque in these pictures. Austria must be a Land of Giants!

How much is a one way ticket?

I can explain that, Matty: everybody except Ursula, I believe, is wearing ski boots!

Princess, your Highlights for Children compare-and-contrast photos/captions at Wonkette is a serious masterpiece. Really, sometimes we're not worthy.

I agree with sfmike. That entry is the best I've ever seen in the entire bloggosphere.
Poor John Halitosis is probably puking in his orchid plant from envy.

Oh.
My.
God.

That is the funniest thing ever - I can't stop laughing.

It really is a masterpiece.

I may have to blog about it - otherwise it will be in my consciousness all day long!
