You know what my hopes are for this trip? I'm pining for Condi to do a little photo-op hotdogging and try for the tricky yet adorable "surrounded by a protective cloud of adorable local children" availability so favored by her pal Karen Hughes. Keep your fingers crossed!

I hope they work in dueling conference table scene with perfectly aligned water bottles. I would love to see how the Japanese add their flair. Maybe precision-aligned bento boxes or Hello Kitty stickers.
Someone's head's got to roll, though, for the non-matching aides in the background.

As you undoubtedly noted, the gold background (esp in the second pix) aims to give the photos an iconic quality, as if our Dear Leaders were being immortalized in a heavenly setting where the permanence of a luxurious metal has replaced the ephemeral, organic, all-too-human world we actually all live in.
