Odd Couples of the Day

U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice (2nd R) and civil rights leader Rev Jesse Jackson (R) greet delegates at the annual convention of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) in Washington July 20, 2006. REUTERS/Jason Reed (UNITED STATES)
That's funny, isn't it? See, it's funny because Jesse Jackson is African-American and I think I heard once that Condi is too, but she's... oh, never mind. It takes too long to explain. Trust me, it's funny.

But not as funny as this:

U.S. President George W. Bush waves to the press as he walks to the Oval Office with U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, July 20, 2006. Rice intends to travel to the Middle East as early as next week to press for a political solution that helps reduce fighting between Israel and Hizbollah guerrillas in Lebanon, her spokesman said on Thursday. Oh, HAW HAW! Bush addressing the NAACP and bringing along Doctor Ferragamo as "street cred"? Now that is fucking hilarious!

UPDATE: I think Condi may have decided to go ahead and make it an official Black Pride day, something I'm sure she tries to do once or twice a decade year, and to commemorate the event, she allowed a real African to briefly stand near her:

Whats funny is the Asshat-in-Chief thinks the NAACP will buy his bullshit.

In photo #3, please note Condi's hestitance to actually shake the big black man's hand.
Clearly she's worried that his extremely dark complexion will rub off on her hand, causing her untold racial dysphoria.

Dear, dear Princess Sparkle Pony, I think you have found out from sitemeter that I have linked to your site. I wil admit that I have also appropriated a photoshop image. I can't tell you how much I appreciate your work. I really and truly can't stand to read the paper/watch TV etc. to see what these reptiles are up to. You've made it possible for me to follow world diplomacy at a safe remove.

I do see the celestial sparkley lights hovering above the princess, keeping her safe for democracy.

I call your attention to Jesse Jackson's entry into the Plassnik International Scarf Competition. Let the Games continue...
