A Dickies tape? That's a Punk Rock Tragedy®, especially since in 1982 it could only have been "Incredible Shrinking Dickies" or "Dawn Of The Dickies;" their finest hours!
When I was in high school, I made dozens of mix tapes off the New Afternoon Show on WNYU in NYC. They played all the latest punk and new wave. I still have all the tapes in a box, but I have no idea if they're still functional.
Oh, that terrible sound the tape player made when munching on assorted much-beloved tidbits. Similar to a cat about to hack up a hairball, and inducing almost as much anxiety.
