Barbara Walters Compliments Callista Gingrich On Her Hairdo, And Then Things Get... Awkward

Ha, ha, ha! Newt 'n' Cally were on The View, and right off the bat, Baba Wawa asked the Goddess about her "always so perfect" platinum sphere, which Callista admitted was a "classic" style enabled by great hairdressers.

And then, well, how could they not ask about the Petraeus affair? I mean, there they were with experts in marital infidelity right there on the couch! "This is painful," Callista revealed, "and they'll have to work together through this as a family."

Coming from first-hand experience!

Newt and Cally Lou were on The View for WHAT reason, exactly? Good God, don't tell me they were shilling those elephant books to the unsuspecting public!

Tatiana must have a special hairspray in her kit which makes one impervious to SHAME.

I saw that and nearly barfed all over my puter. I didn't know that Callista's helmet is a "classic" style and I thought Elisabeth would crap in her mouth and her pants at the sight of one of her GOP nuts on the show. Maybe when she grows up she wants to be just like Callista.

A new gig for Cally-Lou: talking head on adultery... the go-to commentator.

Well! She even brought the stylist to the show! That's how easy it is to maintain that classic 'do.

And a standing O for DC's most ludicrous power couple. Did Elizabeth H. pack the audience with her Tupperware friends?

Petraeus the Genius is worse than the lionization of Westmoreland in Vietnam.

He didn't accomplish shit in Afghanistan.

Ending "the surge" in Iraq got us nothing. American politicians going to Iraq need to be surrounded by helicopter escorts. Iran's Achmedinejad can walk the streets of Baghdad with a standard escort. We weakened Iraq and put it in the Iranian sphere of influence.

But enough of that. Let's get back to the important sphere, the one adorning Cally-Lou's skull! At least Baba Wawa didn't bury the lede.

Thank you, Hubbard, spot on remarks. However, super important to point out Ms. Wawa...did she even realize how cutting her questions were? I'm sort of amazed that Cally Lou had the wits about her to comment cogently.

Adulterers commenting on adultery, really? I guess when you're an expert in breaking up families, you should be the go-to for quality programs like "The View."

What they didn't say about Tatiana is that she used to do Jane Jetson's hair, and she was in the audience because Newt's probably screwing her.

Matthew raises an interesting point. Barbara *had* to know that those were exactly the questions we most wanted answered. hahaha.

Barbara knew. Of course she knew. She's made a lifetime work of getting people to answer questions, especially when they don't want to. She knows how to stick the shiv in without your noticing, and you forget that she can at your peril.

Newt, who isn't as bright as he'd like to believe, and bubble-dwelling and -coiffed Callista didn't stand a chance.

Baba was in assasination mode from the get go with nearly every sentence including the REAL classic: "Thank you for saying that." And fumbling over the pronunciation of Gee Oh Pee! Wow! Someone needs a band-aid!

To Matthew, who was kind to Hubbard: I agree with every poster who wrote after you. Barbara Walters know how to stick the knife in and knows how to twist it. She does it more quietly than ever. Some eighty year olds still deserve a place on TV, while some 50 year olds should be sitting on sidewalk in Reno selling pencils.

Well, she would know, wouldn't she?

oh god, a textured omega with diamond slides. Tiffanys must have been pawning off all their dead 1980s stock on her.

Anonymous, your jewelry observation is platinum-awesome. That's a real thing I just made up.

I'm just guessing here, but I suspect the Gingriches may still be having to pay off some campaign expenses. Tiffany's back-stock and no more Mobile Hair Units until they do. As someone else observed, this may mean Callista will be squirting out more demon-elephant books. Consider yourself warned.

Dearest samael7: Please don't use the phrase "squirting out" and Callista's name in the same sentence. As odd as it seems to us, she is still pre-menopausal and it might give her ideas.

May all the gods forbid it.
