If Willard had been The Little Tramp, he of course would NOT have adopted, helped or defended "The Kid," but kicked him into the gutter and left him to starve.
OT, but OMFG. Gawker just used "double-downed" (hyphenated, past tense) as a verb. I know what "doubled down" means; this must be some sort of sex act involving a gross chicken sandwich.
