OK, the wire photographers are definitely TRYING to be mean to Goddess Callista now, am I right? I mean... c'mon. That's not fair. She can distort her own appearance well enough on her own without some Gay photographer (check the caption!) going the extra mile. Strangely enough, though, this is the first photo I've seen where Newt manages to look crazier than Callista.
And here's the happy couple yesterday:

She's really got that Nancy Reagan/Laura Bush "obedient wifey gaze" thing down pat. Well done, missy! Here's the close-up:
Ha ha! Sorry about that.
And, of course, Cally debuted her music education video day before yesterday, and as I said before, I've got no problem with that. She's right! And it's great to see her in action, playing the horn and singing, etc. Fine.
And, finally, Newt referred to Callista as a "cradle Catholic" today, a term I've never heard before but LOVE, and admitted that he's not a perfect human being, which I'm sure came as a revelation to one or two people. Humility!
Jeez, this blog has kinda become "all Callista all the time" lately. I've done worse.
Happy 2012!

It is like a public service, you are are officially encouraging us all to be "Callista-istas."
Will there be a hairdo alert system for Callista? Has a visible disturbance of the seemingly impervious blond helmet ever been spotted?
That "obedient wifey gaze" is remarkably similar to the 1000 yard stare Vietnam war correspondent Michael Herr talked about in his book "Dispatches."
Look at the comments, Peteykins. Your adoring throng has no problem with a Callista-centric blog.
Happy new year, by the way.
All of a sudden I was Newt to be prez so that PSP can explore Callista for four years.
That's the stare of an obedient wife that's the stare of a woman in charge. "Don't fuck this up Newt! Momma needs new jewelry!"
Yikes! That image of Newt looks exceptionally villainous! Just like a 2nd rate Marvel Comics villain crowing over his possession of the Cosmic Cube® …just before it turns his brain to mush as he fails to comprehend the fullimplications of the Power Cosmic®!
But poor Callista - you're right!
I am mesmerized by her eye makeup, in particular the itsy bitsy eye liner thingy she has going. It makes her eyes look positively bird like. Then there is the tooth/hair color matching thing - how did she do this? Thank you Petey.
postpunkmonk is right! I know we are just supposed to be looking at Callista, but Newt's make-up in that first picture is a whole list of don'ts. Some of the pastiest white person skin possible around his forehead and below his eyes, but parts of his chin and cheeks at George Hamilton levels of tan, with a dribble of paste oozing out from the corners of his mouth.
I particularly liked her parting comment about how music education will help "preserve our cultural identity."
I just want to point out that at 1:05 in the music education video, Cally does not look half bad. I think it's because she's not wearing all that clown lipstick which probably fucks up her embouchure.
By "preserve our cultural identity" does she mean that music education is only for white kids? Because there was only one non-white kid in that entire video. That is quite a feat, even in Iowa, which has a sizable latino population now.
Matty Boy, I hadn't even noticed the color variations in his skin tone.
And now I can't stop noticing.
(And the way Callista is stretched out, it's like Newt's mouth has become a black hole of devouring insanity. Someone call that camera operator's family: in between the two, he's dropped beyond the event horizon and has no hope of escape.)
Now I remember exactly where I'd seen the likes of Newt's face before! On this amazing blogpost on Saliva Strand Syndrome - the silent killer of the comic books!

Oh yeah. That's the only photo of a "real" human being that I've ever seen that belongs next to malefic images of MODOK®!
