Well, I can't answer for everybody, but you may have noticed over the years that African American Republicans/conservatives have been featured quite a bit on this site, so I'm definitely qualified to speak for myself.
So is it true? Do I have a special disdain for black conservatives?
Yes.

Let me stand up for you, Peteykins. You also have a special disdain for gay conservatives. Your reasons are pretty much the same and they make perfect sense.
I almost wrote a longer post, but then I realized that I felt absolutely no need to justify my scorn for black conservatives, the reasons are so plentiful and obvious (short version: you have to be fucked up in the head to be a Republican; you have to be monumentally fucked up in the head to be a black Republican).
I will say this, though: I'd rather be accused of having a disdain for 1% of African Americans than having a disdain for 99% of African Americans.
The solution: disdain everybody, which I have for years, and thereby kept my sanity.

This is exactly how my Jewish husband feels about Jewish Republicans, and exactly how I feel about Republican women. Why, why, WHY are they in that party??? Particularly now.

Republicans are NOT conservatives. Conservatives participate in civil debates with liberals. Republicans refuse to participate in debates, and refuse to be civil. They should stop using those terms as synonyms.
I can understand a black conservative - respect for property, traditional values, being circumspect about government involvement - these things are understandable. I can understand conservativism. I may not agree with it, but it used to be a necessary counterpoint to liberalism, to keep policy honest and moderate.
I can't understand a goddamned thing a mainstream Republican says anymore. They aren't conservative on social issues because they want to legislate behavior. They clearly aren't conservative on economic issues unless being that way will fuck up a Democrat. They aren't conservative in foreign policy because they want to use the US military to squash the enemies of Christianity. They are fucking nutbag assholes and they need to go away.
I can releate, Princess. I'm also fascinated by Lifetime movies where the main character cut themsevles. It's just so strange and self-destructive and I'm hoping for the movie to explain WHY they do it, but there never seems to be a clear justification. But with Lifetime movies, the characters are sometimes victims of sexual harrassment, so...
Being a modern day "black conservative" is a lucrative niche market for a select few.
My (cynical) perspective is that most are in it for the money. They surely cannot be in it for the ideology.
