Photoblogging: For the Birds

OK, so I was over at my friend's antique restoration studio in Georgetown yesterday. We were just hanging out, chatting, catching up, drinking excellent and strong berry/vodka/smoothie things, and while we were doing so, he just went ahead and totally made two bird houses! From scratch, with no plans or specs or anything! He just whipped those suckers out. And never once did making those cute bird houses interfere with his steady stream of chatter and delicious cocktails. Amazing.

I hope you offered to paint them...

I understand your amazement. Growing up, I had a good friend whose mother could whip out the latest, trendiest dress in a few hours, all while cooking dinner and running laundry. We all wished for mothers like that -- or to be like that when we were grown. Alas . . . .

Man and boy, I envy people who can just whip something out.
