Michael Steele as Head of the RNC? Yes, Please!

Steele at the convention, 09/02/08 (AP)

Oh, yes, yes, yes, anything to put Sparklefave Michael "Puppy Lover" Steele back in the spotlight! Let's see, they need somebody to "lead them out of the wilderness," so how about a total dunderhead who lost his race for the Senate by double digits to an absolute nobody? How about somebody whose main selling point was a Boston terrier? How about somebody who got busted for having homeless people distribute fliers implying he was a Democrat? Do you need somebody to combat notions of GOP racism? Why not hire somebody whose campaign produced some of the most shockingly racist ads of all time? Awesome idea!

I will say, though, Michael: LOVE the windowpane/polka-dot combination, even if the suit doesn't fit.

And they called it puppy love...

That would just be perfect if he were the new head of the RNC. Rich, rich, rich.

As someone on Pam's House Blend said, apparently any Black man will do for the GOP.

The Republicans must be crazy. First they try to substitute Hillary with that Wasilla hillbilly, now they're trying to foist Steele off as their version of Obama?
HAHAHAHA!

rptrcub, it's time to stop spreading horrible racist lies about the Republican Party.

Not "any black man" will do for the GOP. They have learned their lesson, and Alan Keyes will definitely NOT do.

It may have taken them a while to figure it out, but they do have standards. Sort of.

Steele alternates between incompetent and inconsequential. He's perfect for the RNC.

I request, however, that his new job requires him to move to Virginia or something. I'm tired of seeing his lonely self around Hyattsville.

Republicans need to be a little less obvious about parading around their -- what, three? -- brown people. Now that Powell and Condi have pledge allegiance to Hussein, all they have left is Steele, Keyes and Jindal.

Exactly like when they ran ALAN KEYES against BARACK OBAMA!

The Republican Party really does have very little regard for the intelligence of their fellow Americans, brown of skin and African of feature.

They tried to run this tool Steele against a White moderate Democrat, Cardin, and Cardin absolutely demolished Steele among Black voters, in the usual 92-8 range.

Basically, they thought that African Americans would vote for ANY African American candidate against their own best interests.

The REAL contest for that seat was in the Democratic primary between Cardin and Kweisi Mfume, either of whom would have made a good Senator.
