Brief Case

Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice arrives on Capitol Hill for a briefing with lawmakers on Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2008 in Washington. (AP Photo/Evan Vucci)

Condi wore a pretty new suit yesterday. I like the taffeta shawl collar. And... uhhh... well, that's pretty much it. I just really didn't want that Joe the Plumber t-shirt at the top of the blog anymore.

Oh, come on. Butch up, Princess. At least tell us who her girlfriend is or something. At least the Blade had that great story on her back in September. Surely, you can dish!

She looks the most relaxed there we've seen her in years. Is it because the end is near? Would even Condi, the ultimate work-wife, have gotten tired of trying to carry out Bush's wishes?

Her suits all look alike. I have to peruse Neimans and Saks online and see what I can find. I keep thinking Armani, but no, that's Pelosi's gig. It is just that they all LOOK ALIKE. Maybe it is just Condi

A pretty new pant suit? Pretty? Only in the context of pretty boring, if you ask me.

Medium gray with a black shell underneath? Yawn.... That has all the imagination of an 8-count box of crayons. (It'll do the job, but it lacks the flash of a 64 count box.) Maybe Condi was trying to match the escalator or something imaginative. But I suppose I would be a drabby dresser, too, if I were counting my last days as SoS.

I agree, however, with Md. Terry that her smile reveals a sense of contentment and relief -- perhaps because she knows she'll be soon passing the torch on to a new standard barrer. (Or maybe she just had a good bowel movement this morning -- isn't that what makes Bush smile? A good bowel movement?)

Absolutely. Condi looks positively radiant. And I mean that. Who knew that after all these years, that underneath that dour exterior there was a proud, gay, beautiful African-American woman?

Wouldn't it be wonderful if she could move back to Stanford and get married?

She must really be glad it's almost all over. She's sporting a genuine-looking smile despite the fact that she's going into the lion's den of the lawmakers briefing. Perhaps she's just happy that Chimpy's not around to burp in her ear or something equally charming.

Eh.
She's so... Condi.
And compared to that radiant creature now gracing the top of the page (to say nothing of her radiance in implementing reasonable policies and being an effective force in international diplomacy), really.
Eh.
Really, Condi: Time. To. Go.

She does look really life-like. And I like the frilled jacket against my will. I would not touch it with a ten-foot pole, and yet, it does have charms.
