Oops, I Just Remembered I Have a Blog

US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, seen here in July 2008, said Friday that she looked forward to further improvements in ties with Libya after Congress passed legislation paving the way for Tripoli to compensate US terrorism victims. (AFP/File/Brendon O'hagan)

Ha, ha, whoopsie! My goodness, I've been absent lately, huh? Well, you know, Summer doldrums 'n' such. But OMG, only, what, two posts last week? As fond as I am of pointing out that I'm not a professional blogger, I've got to admit that's pretty bad.

So anyway, I promise I'll resume blogging daily. Trouble is, I'm kinda over politics right now, so maybe I'll blog about something else. Any ideas?

Oh, and the picture above? Don't you love it? So does Yahoo News, because they keep using it over and over. It's shiftylicious!

I'm feeling the same way about writing about politics. In truth, you're a genius "cultural commentator" which means you can write about whatever the f--- you want. It will be brilliant, no matter what, so don't worry about it. Go with your own instincts. We shall obediently follow.

This blog isn't really about politics. It's about information that gets accidentally conveyed in political reporting, and personalities. It's about image and information. Maybe you'll feel more excited about it when the election heats up or when we get a whole new cast of characters in January. Or maybe you're sad the passing of the Bush era will take with it such juicy targets.

We are your fans.

Condi transcends politics. She's my... my... PC wallpaper.

Well, I didn't post this just to dig for compliments, but thanks.

I guess my ennui lately is due to not really ever getting into presidential politics very much here, and that's what is dominating the news.

I'm also sick of politics, including Bush, Condi, McCain, John Edwards's dick, Obama, CNN, MSNBC, Sarkozy's hot wife, Anderson Cooper, all news media, ad nauseam.
I feel for ya, Pony.

Light posting or no, I am addicted, and visit at least once aday. You could blog about the atmospheric pressure on Cape Ann and I would enjoy.

Now, for the real question. I wonder what Miss Condi was wearing this particular day. Manolos? No, think not. She has that Ferragamo look about her.

Glad to see you are back up on the pony, Princess. But, gosh, no politics? Our pals in Georgia got a little grabby and the Russkies started acting like the imperialists they really want to be deep down inside. And now Condi the Kremlinologist will get to use her vast knowledge again, after helping create the situation that caused this latest war. Yay!

I didn't say "no politics." I just said I haven't been into it lately.

Brzezinski:

"This invasion of Georgia by Russia is a very sad commentary on eight years of self-delusion in the White House regarding Putin and his regime. Two memorable comments stand out. First, when Bush first met Putin and said he looked into his soul and could trust him. Second, not long ago, Condi Rice claimed that American relations with Russia have never been better in history!"

I'm totally up to here with politics as well. However, your blog makes it all so much more bearable! Love this pic of "Condi the Kremlinologist" (well played, MattyBoy!). Shiftylicious and pursedlipsiffic!

ive been over it all as well...politics & media coverage just seems to get DUMBER & LESS substantial.

& thats part of the genius of your blog...if they are gonna feed us such obvious empty photo ops, then why not critique it on those terms (hairdo, matching chairs, shoes, etc)
