Condi Sneaks into Iraq All Quick-Like

Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki (centre, R) meets U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice (centre, L) in Baghdad January 15, 2008. REUTERS/Iraqi Government Office/Handout (IRAQ).

I can spot at least six boxes of Kleenex in the above photo-op, so YES! Everybody's covered!

But anyway, Condi's in Iraq today, and would you believe it? It was a SURPRISE!!! OMG!

Is that a Persian rug? Is it a recent acquisition? The Iraqis are chummier with the Iranians than our gummint would like to admit.

This is a terrible picture journalistic'ly. Every head should be the size of a nickel (old newspaper rule, and still a good one) so that the viewer becomes a participant and support person in the Condoleezza Hairdo Alert international conversation.

Who needs those other fools?

Whoever planned this glorified matching armchairs with interpreter set-up forgot the perfectly draped Amerkin flag behind the guest of honor. Also, you'd think that
U.S. military officers could put on a dress uniform when in the presence of Madame Secretary and Prime Minister Maverick Puppet King. Fatigues really aren't acceptable diplo-wear.

Lulu is right. That photo should have been deleted from the photog's digital camera before proofsheets were even offered.
Reuters is slipping.
