Marching Orders

This picture released by the Jordanian Royal Palace shows US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice (R) shaking hands with Jordan's King Abdullah II during a meeting in Washington, DC. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice is to embark on a four-day Middle East tour next week to discuss the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and stability in Iraq, the State Department said Tuesday.(AFP/HO)

Yay! A shopping excursion! I'm glad Condi decided to drop that trip to dowdy ol' Africa in favor of the Middle East, because the malls are totally a lot better there. And, naturally, she had to get her holiday instructions from one of her primary masters before going. No, not George (although I'm sure he had some tips 'n' tricks), but Jordan's adorable bear-king!

Which reminds me: I wonder how many oil company boards Condi will grace after the Bush Administration finally goes away?

King Abdullah is kinda on the tiny but perfectly formed side. Is he a bear or a bear cub?

Is the key element in the background for the pix -- a light switch -- meant to be a symbol of Jordanian enlightenment?

What is that on the door frame to Dr. Ferragamo's right?

Is it a mezuzah? It's not like Condi understands the cultural differences in the Middle East, after all.

It's too pointy at the bottom for a mezuzah, innit? Did somebody throw poo at Condi?

Did finally figure out what the centrally-shown switch on the wall (probably installed at the last minute by CIA operatives) behind our Condolence is for: to turn Condibot on, in, of course, a non-sexual, but simply mechanical, sense. The "Dr" is now ready to "negotiate,” with humanoids she no doubt thinks are basketball star Michael Jordan’s cousins (and how Kondi loves sports, including basketball, as she told women Afghan B-ball players recently …yeah, the Jordanians, the next NBA team)!

I keep looking at the black shrivelled thing on the doorframe and, apart from its passing resemblance to Dick's heart, I can't help but think it's a nail-snagged remnant of someone's hair weave.

She's pretending not to notice.

Okay, "A" team vs. "B" team: What to worry about --

"A" Team -- A shrivelled, darkened, potentially smelly penis on a Jordanian wall is what we have to worry about.

"B" Team: the perhaps-dangerous light switch is what the focus is on here.

"A" team wins by popular demand...

Stinking Penis for President of the World!

I kinda have a crush on King Abdullah. I think he's adorable. Did you know he guest-starred on an episode of Star Trek Voyager?

PSP- since you said it first I must admit to harboring some crush like thoughts on King A. I spent a week in Jordan last year and his photo is like totally everywhere.

I am also reminded of a bizarre story between me and the only 2 DC insiders I know. (me bein' a NY-er an all!)Neither is a politician but they are both VERY well connected. How I know them is a total fluke, but that's another story.

Anyway I had lunch with them last year on one of my rare trips to DC. One of them is one of these very super Christian types with connections to high places. He has met Abdullah an just SWEARS that he is a Christian. Me - not buying that! But this guy would have you believe that according to Abdullah the rapture is only moments away.

And since he was face to face with the she-devil above... maybe?

What is not mentioned in your posting, is the reason for the timing to the visit, Condi scheduled it for next week so that she would be back in town in time to promote the fall TV schedule in September:
