Condi and Her Sisters?

William H. Johnson: Three Friends, ca. 1944-1945, serigraph on paper, Smithsonian American Art Museum, Gift of the Harmon Foundation
Well, no... but the one in the center looks remarkably like our Condi, doesn't she? Plus, OMG, I wish she wore hats like that!

But seriously, the above is an example of one of many wonderful prints by the massively underrated William H. Johnson, painter and printmaker of the Harlem Renaissance, now on display at the Smithsonian's beautifully renovated American Art Museum. Don't miss this small gem of an exhibition. More info and a delightful slide show can be viewed here.

Also, in the metablogging department, I think this may be the first time that every single post on the front page here is Condicentric. Wow! She's been extraordinarily giving lately, hasn't she?

EDIT: Or could the artwork represent the Three Stages of Condi? Or... Condi in Three Persons? OMG I just blew my mind.

Oh honey, don't blow your mind, we need you..otherwise I will jump off a bridge or something..

I vote for the three stages of Condo..would she wear such hats? Do they match her shoes for the love of god?

If she wore hats like that, she would give MY goddess Ursula Plassnik a run for her money.

If we're talking about Queen Photo-op (outside Lebanon anyway), the Three Stooges of Condi would be more accurate.

I love William Johnson's work. I wonder if Condohoosstta has even heard of him. Wonder what he'd do with her if he were here today.

On a serious note, Princess, thanks for the link to the slide show.

On a frivolous note, La COndi.
