OKOKOKOK... just this once. To sum up:
1. I think it's sad Ms. Sheehan lost her son, and I think she has every right to protest.
2. I think the way many (not all) of the commie-pinko-lefty groups have jumped onto her bandwagon is pretty gross.
3. I think the utter fury and hatred aimed at her by extreme Republicans is really, really gross.
There, wasn't that easy?
UPDATE: Edited ever-so-slightly for clarity. Also, if you think this post really damages my lefty credentials, please re-read my first statement.

Yaay Centrism! That's my schtick, but you make it so sparkly! Squee!
Dear Princess Sparkle Pony: As a commie-pinko-leftist Pony Pal, I feel quite distressed by your post. You know who you sound like?
I don't have your courage to go to Christian websites and scary right-wing websites and watch CNN and all those scary cable news shows, but I was channel-surfing tonight in bed and stopped at CNN because the Headline News break was about the Republican Governor of Ohio, Mr. Taft, being indicted for corruption on four "misdemeanor" counts which could still land him in prison.
This was in the middle of News Watch with Aaron Brown, a creature I'd never seen before and never want to see again, and he said, "I'll bet you those counts never stand up," said with a would-be devilish grin, and the woman from Headline News, said, "I'll raise you and say that they do," and you should have seen the look of hatred in Aaron's eyes, which she also caught and said, "I guess I'm not allowed to say that," and he said, "No." It was very weird.
Even weirder was his Cindy Sheehan report where they showed the names of dead soldiers that is a nightly feature of CNN, apparently, and they went back to March and his comment was, "the only name you probably know from all the ones we've shown over the years is Casey Sheehan," and he said it angrily, as if, "how dare you?" And then he proceeded to say that Sheehan was surrounded by commie-pinko-lefty groups at her Crawford camp but he went to his on-site reporter whose name I can't remember who said, "Well, actually, Aaron, this whole thing is pretty organic, it doesn't seem to be organized by anyone, it's mostly middle-aged women from all over the country who were touched when they saw Cindy Sheehan on television and have driven here to give her their support. They do a lot of crying together."
Anyway, your post could have been written by Aaron Brown of CNN, and I don't think a Pony Pal should be any meaner to the Supreme Princess than that. But do think about it.
Love & Kisses.
I'm sorry, but I'm not saying that I'm grossed out by ALL of Cindy's supporters. And also, I think what she's done is brilliant: she's managed to get serious airtime for anti-war causes, which is a very good thing. To repeat, I'm not critical of her at all.
BUT, you must see the blatent, cynical exploitation of her going on on both sides. Granted, I think that the hawkish GOP creatures attacking her rate way, WAY higher on the disgust-o-meter than those on the left wedging their feet in the doorway she's created.
And seriously, I'm nothing like Aaron Brown. I mean... c'mon.
See, I for one am happy to see blatant, cynical exploitation on both sides here. At least the parties are finally being honest in a kind of sick way. The Republicans are showing that they don't really care, and the Democrats ares showing that they'll do anything to score points on the Republicans (as long as the focus groups think it's okay).
As a pinko comie leftist Pony Pal, I have to agree with the Princess. Thank you.
Of course, I am very proud of Cindy for what she is doing and I think Bush should be Impeached for this war but I think she was off her rocker for blaming Israel for this war. Israel did not want this war, Iraq was no threat to them.
Lisa
Dear Princess: Your amplification/apology is totally accepted, and I remain your worshiper. You are NOT Aaron Brown, but I already knew that.
Lisa: Did you really have to bring up Israel? If you go to the Huffington Post today, Cindy Sheehan writes that she NEVER wrote that her son was sent to "fight for Israel." It's a made-up slander by the right-wing attack machine, and you've just helped to spread the lie.
But let me say it. Of course Israel was involved, and so were all the right-wing Jews (they are usually called by the less offensive term "neocons") who seem to be in charge of our current insane foreign policy. Wake up and smell the coffee, Pony Pal. The backlash is going to get ugly.
sfmike,
Do you realize that you just blamed "the Jews" for a war and that they run our country? That is a repitition of the Jewish cabal myth and has been around since the Roman Empire. It is also one of the hallmarks of anti-Semitism.
Lisa
Now, now, Pony Pals™! Am I going to have to withhold the hoof glitter? Please take it to email, you two!
I have to side with SFMike here. I respectfully think the princess needs to put down her goblet of cool-aid. What are these vague innuednos about a few left-wing exploiters. If there are few then whay bother mentioning them on the same level as the feaking hoardes of right wing liars? What is her majesty tring to achieve?
Also, the Israel bit seems to be another lie from the right wind smear-mongers.. Cindy Sheehan never said that as far as anyone can tell.
BTW, Very nice op-ed on Ms. Sheehan from Frank Rich at the NYT today:
