So anyway, the news that lots of dumb "conservative" groups want to boycott Girl Scout Cookies this year just happened to coincide with the order form from my coworker Jeannette arriving in my office. This year, I'm buying twice as many as usual. For great justice!

Cookies 4 Victory!

As a member of one of the groups which have caused the GSA to be targeted by conservadopes, I thank you profusely for supporting them!
Both my daughters went through the whole Girl Scout sequence, both are now Life Scouts, and I spent years and years hauling boxes of cookies in and out of the house. I can testify that it's a great, person-building organization. They are organized like a Panzer Regiment; as we say here in Utah--where the Boy Scouts are intertwined with the LDS church--you never hear of Girl Scouts getting lost on the mountain or washed away in a flash flood.
My experience with being a Cub Scout was that the whole thing was wound around conformity, patriotism, and religion, so it grossed me out really fast. Even at the time, the Girl Scouts seemed totally different to me, way better.
Thank you and everyone who supports the GSA. It is a great organization that builds independence, creativity and leadership. If you are unable to eat all those cookies, GSA does accept cookie donations to send to our military, hospitals and such places as Ronald McDonald House. And again, thanks for your support!!
Boycott Thin Mints!
Seriously, that is a non-starter of the most obvious stripe.
Having been kicked out of a Brownie group -I know.. sigh, I don't hold a grudge.
I will buy the cookies and hope that my purchase in some way smites the awful folks who would boycott the good work the GSA does. Plus, they were founded in Savannah by a very fierce southern woman. I love fierce woman.
Why are conservatives telling us not to eat Girl Scout Cookies?
I have been a US Girl Scout Over Seas Leader (USGSOS) for 8 years now and I will tell you that GS is all about girl power, entrepreneurship, and diversity. This is a big eye- opener to our Saudi members. We are NOT under the same philosophy as BSA.
Been following the two GS who are campaigning to have palm oil and all bad fats taken out of the cookies. Palm oil especially bad for Orangutans. Palm oil production is cutting down the forests where they live....
