Is George Allen Taking His Cues from Amy Sedaris?

I haven't said anything about the whole George Allen Macaca thing because, well... you know, because every other blog under the sun already has, so why should I?

But after seeing the video, I kept thinking that his demeanor reminded me of something, and it was totally bugging me, and then I finally figured it out! Allen's mocking of the Indian boy sounded just like the way Amy Sedaris' Jerri Blank character constantly puts down her "Chimpipino" friend Orlando on the late, lamented Strangers with Candy*. Here's an example:
Art Teacher: Who wants to be a Pilgrim?
[All students raise their hands]
Jerri: Orlando, you can't be a Pilgrim! The Pilgrims had snowy-white skin to match their Christian souls; they didn't sacrifice coconuts to their monkey gods!
[All students laugh merrily]
Can't you just hear Allen saying the same lines? Boy, I sure can.

*Funniest sitcom EVER. Funnier than I Love Lucy and Small Wonder put together. This fact is not open to discussion.

I have seen the movie, and it's great because it's more of our favorite characters, but Paul Dinello's direction is pretty awful. He makes the whole thing very gritty and "real" looking, rather than the bright popness of the TV series.

I also really missed Orlando. Orlannndo!

Stephen Colbert dancing and singing the revival song about the "Kingdom of Heaven" on the end credits of the SwC cult episode? GENIUS.

I suspect that George Allen might be a boozer, a user, and a loser. But he's definately no macaca!
