Innovative Democrat Humorously Compares Politicians to Jesus, Lobbyists to Wise Men

From The (Cackalacky) Insider, via Think Progress, comes this impassioned plea from just the kind of Democrat who isn't doing anybody much good these days:
“Even Baby Jesus accepted gifts, and I don’t believe it corrupted him.” — North Carolina State Rep. Drew Saunders (D), arguing that a $200 gift-reporting requirement for legislators from non-family members was too low.

The email I just sent to NC Rep. Drew Saunders:

"Even Baby Jesus accepted gifts, and I don't believe it corrupted him." - North Carolina State Rep. Drew Saunders (D), arguing that a $200 gift-reporting requirement for legislators from non-family members was too low.

(1) Baby Jesus wasn't an elected official
(2) Baby Jesus was a minor when he accepted the gifts you mentioned
(3) If you'll allow me to nail you to a cross, I'll claim 30 pieces of silver as income on my 2006 tax return.

You're an embarrassment to our party. I should move to your district so I can vote against you in the next election.

Is baby Jesus sportin' a little wood at the sight of that 76 ball?
Just asking.

Of course. Have you seen the price of gas? Baby J-dizzle needs to fill up the H1 and get him a slim-jim.

I'm sure Mary put that gold into his college fund. She would never have let him spend it on the race for Son of God.
