Did you know Henry Darger clipped a complete run of Nancy strips from the newspaper? I am curious how that influenced the Vivian Girls story, which I'd like to be able to read one day.
Darger did love Nancy, and apparently pasted decades worth of the strip in used phone books. It's hard to see any connection to the Vivian Girls, however.
Brilliant! Just found your blog via a boingboing.net Nancy story. Never had seen this particular shot of Our Lady of Spikes either, but the instant I did...it clicked and I had to whip this up.
