OMG, this bus was nightmarish: covered with a couple of dozen floating heads of noteworthy Canadian women, none of which I had ever heard of, naturally (the one shown here is named, amusingly, Abby Hoffman. She is, of course, a hockey player). Where's my Grandma, dammit? Interspersed amongst the terrible oil (?) portraits reproduced on the bus were what appeared to be spray-painted doily stencils. So weird! I mean, if you want to make a feminist statement, I'm thinking you can probably do better than to use doilies (doilies!) as a design motif.
But anyway! This hideous photo marks the debut of my new camera, a fabulous Panasonic Lumix GF1 (no, this isn't a paid product placement). Highly recommended! It's much more powerful than a point 'n' shoot, but less cumbersome than an SLR. Ten years ago I would have laughed at the idea of Panasonic, of all companies, racing to the top of the digital camera field, but their partnership with Leica has served both companies incredibly well, and this is my second camera by them. I am very, very happy! Yay!

Here's a geek's "Right on, Bro!" RE Panasonic cameras. It's surprising what an effect just a few key people can have on the products of even large corporations. I'm ignorant of just who that is at Panasonic, but they do make very nice cameras, nicer than you know you need one to be.
Wow! And I thought that computer graphics had rendered airbrush technique superfluous in the new digital age!! Like my friend Doug said back in the late 80s "The computer is the new airbrush." I guess there's not enough nail salons to absorb the still vibrant airbrush workforce and one lucky sod made the jump to tourbus nirvana!
I should clarify: the doily stencils and portraits weren't executed directly on the bus; they're photographic reproductions.
The teeth. My god, the teeth!
Me three on the PanaLeicas. Excellent value, and very nice Leica glass. The 'real' leicas (all the guts are Panasonic) have slightly more expensive lenses and different firmware; and I believe I've read someplace that you can successfully update a PanaLeica to real Leica firmware.
If this bus is a-rockin'
Don't come a-knockin'
Hey, isn't that an airbrushed likeness of award-winning* columnist Richard Cohen? (S/he/it looks far better without the white public hair on the jowls.)
