Quickie: Erstwhile Pony Crush A Total Douchebag

Remember when, for a brief moment, we got all distracted by Adam Kokesh, the handsome Marine who liked to protest Bush and hoist his delicious arms into the air?  Well, I hate to break it to you, but it turns out that he's a total Tea Partier/Ron Paul freakazoid and he's running for Congress in New Mexico.

If you doubt that he's gross, all you need to do is go to his campaign web site and note the picture that shows him talking on his cell phone while wearing mirrored aviator sunglasses. Blecccch.

No, not your Tally McArmstrong™! Say it aint so.

Maybe he'll wear a sleeveless suit....that would be kinda hot.

Resist it, Kind Friday, resist it!

Ha-ha! You are not alone Peteykins -- I have a couple of coworkers who are also admirers of Kokesh. They will be crushed when they find out how rightwing he is (that may actually make one of them love him more!). I always thought he was scary looking.

Anyway, I think Kokesh's IVAW counterpart, Paul Reickhoff, is a far more interesting and appealing specimen. I have been reading his posts on the Huffington Thing and he appears to be lucid and educated. I just hope that his fame doesn't go to his head.

Awww, crushed crushes! I seem to recall we were getting an inkling of "the man behind the sign" a while back, but it's good to have it broken cleanly off like this, rather than let it linger.

It's easier for me to resist now because he's starting to look like Tim Curry. Not in a good way.

Just another purty face.

Did this clown get a tax cut?

That is disappointing.

It's okay Petey, I can't even tell you how many bad girls I've wasted crushes on.

Yeah, well, he's not a complete dope -- he's apparently pre-screening comments. I tried leaving one to his post about the book of teabagger photographs in which I concede "hilarious" as an appropriate descriptor but "clever" is a bit much. I am not holding my breath that it will ever go up.

It must be a full-time job searching through his filter for a comment he can actually allow through.
