Pink Pony Spotted In This Week's Doonesbury Strips

My first reaction, obviously, is that it's a coincidence, and to think otherwise would be indicative of delusions of grandeur.

Or is it? Would it? Could it?

What if the pink pony turns out to be a tea party infiltrator? Stay tuned!

I saw that this morning and hoped you did too. Yay, two sparkly hooves up!

I don't know what parts of the Interwebs Mr. Trudeau stumbles across, but anyone who is completely unaware of Ponydom isn't worth knowing, IMNHO.

To be honest, I totally don't think Trudeau is referencing me at all. If you're going to show a gathering of iconic toys for girls, it's fairly inevitable that you're going to include a My Little Pony.

A pony can dream, though, right? I love Doonesbury, and I've been reading it regularly (and closely) since I was about 12.

It's possible he's both aware of Der Glitzenpony and is including a My Little Pony because it's a familiar little girl's toy.

In fact, I'm going to pretend that this is indeed the case, and even if he makes no further acknowledgement toward this blog, it will only serve as a confirmation of my bias, reasoning that he'd do nothing so gauche as to draw more attention to it. Those in the know are already in the know and didn't need any further little needless clé to obviate its roman identity.

And if he does reveal it to the masses, it will only belie his obvious taste and acculturation and a noble-hearted attempt to share PSP with the wider audience it richly deserves.

It is in this way I feel I can best honor right wing politics.
