Is it a mail slot? I first thought this was a reflection of her face in a car rear view mirror, but then I thought, why would Nancy, a little girl, be driving a car? BUT then I thought: this is a Nacny strip, it never makes sense so its entirely possible-- no, PROBABLE, that Nancy is in fact driving a car while crying, AND probably joined by a gorilla in the back seat baking a cake made of gravel and tree bark.

When I read Nancy as a kid, Ernie didn't use no highfalutin words like intimidate.
It's another world. sigh.
Something about the way Nancy is shown here makes me think she is giant. I expect the next panel is her destroying a city or something.
Intriguingly inscrutable. If I didn't know it was a Nancy panel, I'd be quite at sea.
Is Nancy crying through the postal delivery slot? Has Aunt Fritzi locked her outside? Should we call the authorities?

These things are like rorschach tests!
HRH, yes, it's a mailslot, and Nancy is trying to convince the mailman not to deliver her report card.
