Prude Descending a Staircase

U.S. President George W. Bush is welcomed by officials as Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice walks down the stairs at the airport in Lima November 21, 2008. Bush is in Peru to attend the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit. REUTERS/Ivan Alvarado (PERU)

Nothing much to say here. This photo shows, though, what a pain in the ass it must be when Condi visits. Look at all those people! Also, the horrible quality of the photo suggests that it was taken from, like, Argentina with a telephoto lens. Tsk!

Absolutely. BRAVA! OMG the instant deep laughter!

And then the telephone lens...! Yay PSP!

Accurate, concise, and IRRESISTIBLE!

Another moment of PSP greatness. What I like best is that NO ONE is paying the slightest bit of attention.

OMG. I think Marcel would have heartily approved!

Madduane is on to the real impact of this photo - its incredible sense of solitude in the midst of all that Theatre of Power. She is suddenly, in her irrelevance, the loneliest woman in the world.

Accurate, accurate. Even when she doesn't travel with POTUS, all the Nasty Journalists must stand 300 yards away in case one of them feels uppity and yells out a question. Even then, she just grimaces, cups her ear ("Eh? Eh? You are too far away!") and scoots into the waiting motorpool.
On another note, Big Oh Noes for PSP. Hillary at State. Damn.

Peru?
Glad to see Bush and Rice are spending their last weeks in office reaching out to another country to fuck up.
Or maybe Bush is there to pick up a few kilos of cocaine for his post-presidential retreat.

Oh hahahahahahahahahahahaha! I'm only laughing to show that I "get" the arty reference in the title (one of Van Gogh's pointillist masterpieces, for the know-nothing clods in your readership).

Tremendously funny, though but.

Distributorcap, Condi does look a bit gaunt. Perhaps, she is trying to maintain her svelte figure so that she can begin her post-SOS career as a Calvin Klein model, according to Fergie: http://www.newstrackindia.com/newsdetails/40962.

Beyond fabulous headline, Princess! This is the companion graphic to W. at the summit at which no one was shaking his hand.

When I heard that Shrub was heading to Peru, I had two thoughts: He's thriftily buying his Peruvian flake in bulk, and he's heading over to his spread in the Chaco section of Paraguay (the one with oodles of armed guards and a private airstrip) for some private time. Why else would he go to Peru? For the potatoes?

The pegged trousers certainly do accentuate her twiggy legs. And what IS with the Enquirer-quality telephoto? Looks like the guy in the forefront is getting a closer look than we are, and he's probably snapping pics of Bush (for gag value) on a disposable Kodak.
