Photoblogging: Virgin Video
OK, I'm back from Tucson! I shot the above photo from Sparkledad's Prius (Go Dad!). It was fun! I saw brother and sisters and nephews and parents and old friends 'n' such. I visited the stupendous Desert Museum for the first time in 15 years. I went to an excellent art opening on Congress (and purchased a great print) and was glad to see that downtown Tucson is still pretty trashy and weird despite all the misguided efforts of those who should know better; I'd say it's been fixed up just enough, but not too much. I got to hear (but not see) my parents' jack-o-lantern get eaten by appreciative javelinas (they left the stem and most of the candle). I was chagrined to see that Arizona design still consists entirely of dusty pink and peach geometrics with turquoise and copper accents, and was horrified to encounter the awful Kokopelli in myriad ghastly forms.
So anyway! I'm back. What's up? I hear there's some sort of contest going on today?

It's morning in America.
Sheesh.
America is waiting for a message of some sort or another!
I left my message at 6 AM, Wawa coffee in hand.
Princess, have they FINALLY finished the perpetual road widening construction on 1-10 around Congress? (It's fun because we're both from AZ. Fun!)
Construction is perpetual on Congress!
I think Sarah Palin is competing in some sort of beauty contest today. Somehow Joe the Biden is involved. I'm not really sure what's going on.
King Friday, nope!
Noooo! not kokopelli!!!
Vote that Kokopelli right out of office!
Welcome home, Princess! Just in time for the Miss Alaska pageant, emceed by Joe Biden! You should hear him belt out his rendition of "Here She Is, Moose Alaska! Here sh--BLAMMO!"
You got any of them jacklopes out there?
I mean jackalopes.
I totally heart jackalopes, but they seem to be at a very, very low ebb of popularity these days. I didn't see a single representation of one.
Ha! I love that video store mural. But the real question is what were you doing in the Menlo Park area of Tucson? At least you were in a moving car.
