If this public appearance doesn't cement the affable Austrian giantess' reputation as the Anti-Condi in every way, I don't know what could. Ursula, tonight, was ab so lute ly stunning; almost regal, but relaxed. Oh, Ursula, please come and rescue us all!
And which one is her date, hmm?

Princess,
In highlighting this splendid picture you are kindly bringing back the best days of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, regrettably ended by the horrors of the 20th century.
Maybe Ursula can take the 21st century "back to the future," the future being a Europe -- and a world -- free of the totalitarianism incarnated by the barbarian acts of the "us" vs. "them" monster-hick from Crawford.
Even without a scarf, Our Ursula certainly knows how to accessorize.
Ursula without glasses is a little confusing. Now I know how Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen felt for all those years.
"And which one is her date, hmm?"
Don't the matching sashes kinda give it away?
Two thoughts: 1) Education lady is totally wishing her cabinet portfolio was cool enough to merit a sash and star combo; and 2) the two ladies are gonna tag team little Wilhelm tonight, as part of their periodic "crushing of the male oppressor" ritual.
I actually gasped in admiration at this photo. LOVE HER.
She does have a certain descended-from-the-clouds-to-reduce-the-earth-to-an-ashen-husk type vibe there, no?
As for the date question, jterry has the final answer. Of course he does look a bit like a humiliated Robin Williams. Mister Doubtfire?
Mmm, I'd like to bite that sash right off her bosom.
And I'm glad Stephen Spielberg showed up to give her a hand.
I think Ursula and Claudia make a cute couple!
I think Ursula and I would make a cute couple! Just sayin'.
I hope that whatever her current arrangement, the lovely giantess has reproduced her own, fabulous kind!
WOW!! <3<3<3
I have to second the glasses thing. I've decided she wears them during normal, ho-hum, day-to-day life as a shield between herself and mere mortals.
But when it's time to step out, get behind lead protection! Ursula unleashed!!
Um, if they change the constitution so that Austrians can become president of the United States (they were thinking Arnold, remember?), maybe we could sneak a write-in for Ursula.
Sigh.
is that Robin Williams.... is he dating urusula
All I can say is every song from the Sound of Music is going through my head at the sight of this. She's like the Baroness. Where oh where is Captain Von Trapp?
She looks like a fabulously streamlined version of one of Austria's greats - the Empress Maria Teresa. I only wish we had more information about the accessories - the collaret is fascinating, the earrings chandelierische, and I long to know what her sash-and-order combo signify.
Altogether a stunning vision. And to think that all we have to offer on our side is the Red Dress of Grievances...
Condi dresses for a high school prom; Ursula dresses for the opera.
Frau can totally wear a sash.
"The Red Dress of Grievances"
Hahahaha! Now I know what to wear to the next Festivus get-together!
Oh my... I've been away from your blog for awhile. Getting greeted by the kidney was one thing...
This was another.
I am faint over this photo. She is regal, our Ursula.
Who else would have thought to wear a flag for a sash. What a fashion trend setter. See? The guy is wearing one too. This flag wearing thing is spreading like wild fire.
And which one is her date, hmm?
They both are!
