WASHINGTON - Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said Friday she is certain the United States has made mistakes in the Iraq war, but the world will have to wait until she is out of government to learn what she thinks they were.Mistakes? Heck, they're just book contract negotiation fodder for Condi.
"As to whether the United States has made mistakes: of course, I'm sure we have," Rice told interviewer Saad Sillawi of the Arabic satellite television station Al-Arabiya. "You can't be involved in something as big as the liberation of a country like Iraq, and all that has happened since, and I'm sure there are things that we could have done differently."
She told Sillawi, however, that the Bush administration is looking ahead, not backward.
"When I'm back at Stanford University," she said, "I can look back and write books about what we might have done differently."
Rice was a political science professor and later provost at Stanford. She was interviewed at a conference in Jordan, and the State Department distributed the transcript in Washington.

Quickie: Condi Spins Mistakes into Gold
Condi told some Arabic TV station that mistakes were made. No, really:

Sometimes she is so beyond parody that I can't ever laugh, because it's just horrifying, not funny.
"I can look back and write books about what we might have done differently"
What about RIGHT NOW? Can we correct the mistakes NOW? Or is she admitting that the situation is so totally FUBAR that it is past the scope of competency of this administration? As if we didn't already know that.
Dr. Ferragamo knows you can't unring a bell. You can't unscrew a pooch. You can't be a little bit pregnant.
Que sera, sera.
Tomorrow is another day.
We aren't leaving Iraq on GWB's watch because he doesn't want the all the blame.
Go with what you know, Condi. Write a book about that.
My my- how Nixon-ian... Mistakes were made! I love the cold and tactical approach of this administration. What if it were their son/daughter, brother/sister, husband/wife etc who was killed stupidly and senselessy in this war.
Condi and her book deals and her cool demeanor.
Feeling some real anger now...

When you are back at Stanford, Ferragamo-Foot-In-Mouth---you stuck up self-deluded 'DEFICENTE'---hopefully there will be 24 hour a day protests outside your office. Won't THAT be fun, eh? Can't eat your lettuce, tomato and roasted baby sandwitch (sic) over a good book without some little upstart telling you that your foreign policy was NOT actual foreign policy but rather the gurgling of your nose trying to breathe through Mr. George Bush Jr.'s increasingly corpulent derriere.
Delusion.
Speaking of delusion--Condi's teeth. She THINKS she's that wonderful thing called "a gap toothed woman" that some film maker, was it Herzog? did a movie on years ago. She might have the gap toothed smile, but she doesn't have the winsomeness and wackiness to go with being a real gap-toothed woman. (Gap toothed women are born that way---it's not a periodontal issue.)
"The Bush adminisration is looking ahead...." ??????
Oh my!!!!
Kitten cousins in Iran, pack your little suitcases.
Mistake #1: the idea that Iraq has been "liberated."
Stanford will rehire that war criminal? Shame on it.
The idea that this petite bourgeoise will use the Iraq disaster as "source material" to write a book -- as if she had nothing to do with it because it was "history."
Where Ms. oh-so-well-brought-up Ph Deeee should go after kissing Dubya's behind for eight years is not Stanford, but GITMO -- one of the great accomplishments of her tenure as Sec State. A high-security cell there would an ideal place for her to write her "book," and all-American torture will enable her to remember the crimes she and the other thugs we've endured for six years have committed.
Does anyone know for sure that Stanford is taking her back? Seems like that would be quite a blight on their reputation. I can see her teaching in 20 years or so when she's had time to formulate something approaching contrition, but what could she possibly teach now other than "The Art of Photo Ops" and "Dissembling for Fun and Profit"?
You all obviously aren't familiar with Stanford. I almost went there, but its patrician-class attitude scared the living daylights out of me when I visited. I literally hated every single person I met. They'll welcome Condi back with open arms.
Condi Nasty, your future job is calling. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=2685975
Stanford was on my short list of grad schools because of some good people in math, but the advisor I met with was such a putz, I took them off my list toot sweet!
Not everyone on campus thinks their dung smells of roses, but I understand how they get the reputation for vanity.
