10 on a Scale of 1 to 10

US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice (L) smiles during a joint press conference with Saudi Foreign Minister Saud al-Faisal (R) in Jeddah. Rice has arrived in Cairo for talks with "moderate" Arab counterparts after kicking off her regional tour in Saudi Arabia with an appeal for an end to Palestinian infighting.(AFP)
Yes, yes, Condi's solving just all of the problems over there. How wonderful! She might think twice about coming home, though, because now George Tenet and that guy who I think is Joanne Woodward's husband and all these people are saying totally mean things about, you know, Tenet meeting with her and explicitly warning her 'n' Rummy about imminent Al Queda threats to the US, like, two months before 9/11.

OMG, it's like what every celebrity has to contend with, you know? I mean, I'm sure people go up to Jennifer Aniston all the time and say things like, "I bumped into you at Nordstrom four years ago, remember?"

Of course Condi doesn't remember you, George Tenet, drab little man!

UPDATE: Smiles, everybody, smiles:

Well there's a new twist on the whole matching armchair scenario. Bury the whole assemblage in flowers and avaiod the fireplace completely. I guess they don't have fireplaces, per se, in Saudi. But I hear it's hot.

Flowers and table keep the shameless infidel from indecently exposing her legs. I mean it's bad enough that Princess Ferragamo didn't cover her head in his highness presence ! ! !

Do we have any evidence that this was indeed a press conference and not that they were on a float pulled through the streets by young arab boys? Because that's what I imagine.
