Metablogging: What if I Worked for Al Jazeerah?

Sometimes I see a picture like this one used by CNN to illustrate their story about the Al Qaeda leader guy mourning his lost Iraqi pal:

... and I think, I can push that picture just where it obviously wants to go:

Hmmm... I probably wouldn't last too long there.

No, you wouldn't last long there (at either CNN or Al Jazeera), but oddly enough you've caught the essence of the photo. Male-male love in most of the Arab/Mediterranean world has always been much more accepted and celebrated than in our Anglo-Saxon culture, which has always shunned the emotion as weak and effeminate.

As for male-male sex and Arabs and Judeo-Christians and everyone's societal injunctions, well, that's a whole 'nother can of worms.

And a sincerely hearty, happy Gay Shame/Pride Weekend to you. (I'm feeling very Gemini yin/yang this month, and I wouldn't be surprised if you were feeling something similar.)

Everyone knows that Al-Qaida, and Saudi Arabia is one big He-Man-Wimmen-Haters club.

PS. No gurls allowed.

I heard, in the Middle East they say, "Women are for babies, men are for fun!"

What are ponies for? Ponies are for looking pretty and decorating everything!

Have you noticed how many number twos there are in al Qaida?
Just wondering.

You might not last so long at CNN but you could have a future with FOX.

But wait...aren't they lifetime members of the He-Man-Wimmen-Haters Club too? Uh-Oh, this could spell trouble for you.

P.S. A-hole Coulter doesn't count - the club likes Fem Bots.
