Introducing a Shiny New Star!

OMG, forget Condi for a minute, OK? Because Representative Jo Ann Emerson (R-MO) has wandered into my field of vision, and she's lookin' good!

OMG! LOVE. HER.

And love is what Jo Ann is all about, as Roll Call reveals (via Raw Story) in their totally thrilling report about the spunky Republican:
Rep. Jo Ann Emerson (R-Mo.) and her husband took an all-expenses paid trip to Santa Barbara, Calif., in January for the official business purpose of "spiritual self-reflection."

The Michigan-based Fetzer Institute, the stated mission of which is to "foster awareness of the power of love and forgiveness through research and education programs," paid $1,108.70 to send Emerson and her husband, Ronald Gladney, on the two-night excursion the weekend of Jan. 20.

Emerson wrote in a recently filed travel disclosure form that the official purpose of the trip was: "A time for spiritual self-reflection and an open and honest dialogue."
So, I know that like me, you were just thinking, "Yes, OK, but does she hand out oversized novelty checks?"

Yes! Love her, love her, love her! Clearly this fabulous new Sparklefave warrents further investigation.

Whoa! Lady, time to do your roots!!

Great picture, though. You can just see that she's the type whose voice does a happy C-above-high-C squeak on every 10th word.

Is she the little girl on Children's Disco all grown up?

I am glad she knows California is the world leader in Love Teaching. Santa Barbara is but one center among many. If she really wants a love potion I strongly suggest the Esalen Institute http://www.esalen.org/

Santa Barbara is a little down scale in the Love Technology area.

Interesting that a woman who champions traditional values, the sacred institution of marriage and the Republican Missouri family didn't take her husband's name when they married. Girlfriend must have a little feminist in her soul... (I mean, plus she works instead of staying down on the farm!)

Another anti-abortion Rebublican...
If she's already a grandmother, seems to me she's trying to put a shine on a trampy young son or daughter who got knocked up early.

I remain steadfastly a fan of Condi. For chrissakes...look at her shoes.

That said, I can't deny her some serious props for using a power tool.

Those aren't roots, it's the outlet where she gets plugged in at night to re-charge her Stepford batteries...
