Big in Ohio

So I was looking at a news story about the evils of hairdressers adopting children* on a Cleveland TV station's site, and I couldn't help but notice this:

Damn, what the heck is wrong with Ohio? This strange, bloodthirsty land has given us "coingate", Jean Schmidt, Abramoff-plagued politicians... and no wonder! They're all sitting around looking at only those news stories which feature sex, drugs, murder or booze.

Does Ohio have... you know... a problem? Is there a way the rest of us can help?

*The Gannett writer seems to think this topic will be the next big campaign issue, but I disagree; I think gay marriage has plenty of miles left on it.

I see an ugly escalation, first marriage, then adoption. I predict we'll see efforts against gay parental custody and gay reproductive rights in general and I wouldn't be surprised to see efforts to ban gay teachers and other professionals who work with children.

They have already tried that crap, banning gay teachers..but then again..this is the Shrubs administration so anything is friggin possible with those yahoos in office.

I share the concerns mentioned above by another anonymous above . We are SO close to the twisted humor of the absurd.... brownshirts you know... is......ewh....this will not be pretty if it develops thus. It won't be just the gays. It will be all of us who can't even imagine the line we are asked to tow (is that toe?).

I'm in Ohio now. I am constantly amazed by what these nimrods in office here will come up with. They're all idiots and the Democrats don't even seem interested in trying to win. I think we are beyond help, honestly, but thanks for your concern!
