OK... She Wasn't That Funny

"...a break-out comedic performance..." --Boston Globe
"...a show-stopper..." --London Free Press
"
...she worked the ballroom like a seasoned stand-up comic." --Washington Times

Let's get the facts from the San Francisco Chronicle, shall we:

The first lady's lines were written by Landon Parvin, a longtime Washington speechwriter who does jokes for the president and who wrote both comedy and serious speeches for President Ronald Reagan.

Parvin sat down with the first lady some weeks ago to work out ideas, Whitson said. He then wrote a script and helped Bush with her timing and delivery over several days of rehearsals.
How about that? Real reporting! Plus, can we be honest? The jokes were stupid and her delivery was terrible.
