Moment of Silence

Please say a farewell prayer to the relevance of mainstream, corporate media as you contemplate CNN's prioritising of the top stories of the day:

Less important headlines on CNN this morning, relegated to "below the fold" status, include "Rule could open pristine forest areas", "Evolution hearings open in Kansas" and "More raids, arrests, in Pakistan".

And just a few minutes later, things are re-shuffled:

We find that the Michael Jackson trial trumps Bush's trip to Europe, and important Princess Diana news trumps American Idol. That reluctant bride, though, is still the most important story of the day after Tony Blair's reelection.

So here's my advice to lawmakers who want coverage for their pet projects: Slap on a veil and RUN LIKE HELL!
